The scope of the project was to install public sewer to 1,760 existing residences that were on septic field systems and grade and pave existing roads within the project limits. Work consisted of installing 93,240 LF of sewer main ranging from 6" to 15", 136,000 LF of 4" sewer service pipe, 3 sewage pump stations, 222 manholes, 1,760 septic tank abandonments, 442,000 SY of asphalt removal and replacement, 1,100 water services, and landscaping of 1,760 residences. Challenges consisted of caliche excavation, work sequencing that only allowed 10,000 LF of disturbance from initial asphalt reclamation to new pavement placing, working with all homeowners to satisfy their expectations for the restoration of their existing yards, and excavations in excess of 20'.
